So feeling rather fuzzy today, it seemed a good time to chill out and video Farewell to Stromness. I was inspired to learn this piece recently after listening to Ruth Wall's CD and especially wanted to play it on lever harp rather than concert harp. I think the sound of the lever harp is well suited to this piece. Reply

Ruth performs works for solo lever harp by Howard Skempton, Gabriel Jackson, Peter Maxwell Davies, Laurence Crane, Michael Parsons, Graham Fitkin and Philip Glass. The CD comprises recently written music by composers working with tonality and modality today, and includes three of Ruth’s works. Reply

MIXED LEVELS, ALL HARPS. Contains all the sheet music from the first issues of the Folk Harp Journal ( songs). This is not an audio CD but rather a computer CD with printable pages of sheet music and instruction in PDF format, so people can look at the music on the computer screen and print out whatever they like.
