  Apr 01,  · So, Nine is hands down my favourite Fairport album, like by a country mile. I like every track and most of them I love. I think this was one of my earliest Fairport purchases, so I went into it unaware of the history of Fairport, of the importance of Sandy, RT et al, so I just took it on its face value as a folk rock album. I’d only got as far as ‘Fairport Nine’, which is a really good album, and the last one to have that beautiful John Wood/Sound Techniques sound. the marvellous ‘Bring ‘Em Down’ and the brilliant arrangement of the traditional ‘Polly On The Shore’.
